NAWB Policy Consultation
NAWB will be hosting an intensive day-and-a-half Policy Consultation that brings our members together for in-depth debate and discussion related to issues that will fundamentally impact the future of workforce and skill development in the U.S. NAWB has a long history as an advocate for public funding for workforce development activities: it has championed the importance of locally-driven, business-led workforce boards and continues to analyze, understand, and share its assessment of the evolving workforce policy landscape with its members and key partners within the Beltway and across the country.
Over the years NAWB has involved its members in these efforts through listening sessions at the Forum and surveys, and by connecting face-to-face with our members while on the road. However, with WIOA now passed and a new President and administration less than four months away, we think it is important to engage our members in a more focused effort to discuss some of the issues that are of key importance to us, specifically:
- Financing Skill Development
- Flexibility for Problem Solving
- Workforce/Education Systems Collaboration
If you are a dues-paying NAWB member, we invite you to register for the event and join us in shaping the future policy direction of the association. The consultation will take place in Orlando, Florida from December 9 - 10. Register today!
If you are a key partner or interested in NAWB's work, expect to see NAWB release three policy papers and associated recommendations shortly after the New Year.
