Supply Chain Automation Workforce Hub

We're very excited to start bringing our members into the Supply Chain Automation Workforce Hub, a one-stop solution for recruiting and training supply chain automation specialists, focused on work-based learning and in partnership with Manhattan Strategy Group and Department of Labor.

The Supply Chain Automation Workforce Hub (Hub) is a one-stop solution for recruiting and training supply chain automation specialists. We help employers develop Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs), customized training programs which develop their supply chain automation talent pipelines. The Hub supports Workforce Development Boards (WDBs) as they engage employers in need of supply chain specialists.

What is Supply Chain Automation?

There is a growing need for skilled workers in supply chain automation – the use of technologies to improve efficiencies, connect applications and streamline processes within supply chain operations including mechatronics, logistics, transportation, and warehousing. According to the Economic Policy Institute, more than 72,000 jobs in these fields have been created since February 2020, and an additional 770,000 jobs are expected to be created through 2025. Companies across multiple industries are competing for skilled workers; employers of all sizes need to quickly hire knowledgeable and skilled employees.

The Hub connects Americans to good quality jobs in this critical sector and among populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic while helping employers raise productivity, diversify their workforce, increase recruitment and retention, and improve worker morale.

How can the Workforce Hub help?

The Hub helps employers, education institutions, and career seekers in many ways – all at no cost!

  • Conduct education and outreach to employers and educational institutions about benefits of RAPs in supply chain automation
  • Connect interested employers, education and training providers, and workforce organizations
  • Develop RAP models and materials customized to meet each employer’s training needs
  • Register RAPs with the federal or state apprenticeship office
  • Offer financial incentives for RAP sponsors
  • Support educational institutions to offer applied learning aligned to in-demand careers and pathways to a college degree and/or certification
  • Recruit and enroll apprentices with a focus on equity and diversity
