These Town Hall sessions begin to explore what are regulatory questions, what we need legislation from, and other issues facing Workforce Boards across the country. In this first Town Hall, NAWB opened the phone lines for a robust dialogue about how organizations are preparing, responding and tackling this pandemic.



NAWB is gathering ideas for new Town Hall topics, developing relevant content, and reaching out to subject matter experts. We want to continue bringing Workforce Boards the best content possible for weathering the unexpected through up-to-date information and guidance.

March 18, 2020: Town Hall Series Kick-Off

In this first Town Hall, NAWB opened the phone lines for a robust dialogue about how organizations are preparing, responding and tackling this pandemic.


March 25, 2020: Virtual Services

NAWB hosted a virtual town hall on virtual services with Richard Acosta and Christopher Bernhardt from Grant Associates and Tom Kavanagh from JobWorks Inc joining as subject matter experts.


April 1, 2020: Stimulus Package Overview

Congress passed and President Trump signed, a historic $2 trillion COVID-19 relief package in an attempt to mitigate the economic and health effects this crisis has had on the United States. This was the third COVID-19 related legislation passed by Congress. This town hall discussed the COVID-19 stimulus legislation, what is included in each bill, and what to expect in future legislation.


April 8, 2020: Cyber Security

Subject matter experts from designData discuss cybersecurity at a time in which most of the world is engaged via technology. It entails an overview of issues to pay attention to regarding virtual opportunities and internet protection.


April 15, 2020:  Proactively Using Online Learning to Build Community Engagement

Moving from reactive to proactive means workforce boards should consider several issues when deciding whether or which online learning program to offer. Factors to consider include accessibility, ability to mentor, assessment, delivery options, regulatory issues and how to communicate the learning process. Join us as experts from Drexel University dive into these topics.



Dun and Bradstreet will explain how to use the Overall Business Health Index (OBHI) to better understand the impacts on the economy during this uncertain time.

May 8, 2020: Re-Opening Efforts in Workforce Development

August 05, 2020: Congressional Updates and COVID-19 Legislation Explained



With the flurry of legislation and news surrounding this next relief package, we will be hosting a town hall to break down the bill and the rumors and focus on what it all means for the workforce system. The town hall recording features NAWB President Ron Painter, and Associate Director of Policy Matt Bandstra, who will dive-in on all proposed COVID-19 relief legislation, including the Senate’s most recent proposal.
